  • Good Morning!  I am dragging this morning.  Pooh's bus got in at about 1137.  She got the drum unloaded along with her suitcase and then had to wait for the guy's bus to come back and so they could unload the uniforms and hopefully have the guy drummers put the drums away since the room was locked.  Of course her the the other senior drummer where the only ones that put any of them away so so it was around 12:07 when we headed home.  And it is another hour home.  I feel old.  LOL

Not much else going on.  We are in Billings tomorrow and then I need to work the grad table for the basketball game.  Another long day.

In the last batch of chicks that we got we ended up with a rooster.  He is pretty but he is a little mixed up.  I have never heard him crow when the sun is coming up.  He just manages to crow all day long.  He isn't mean now and as long as he doesn't get that way he can stay.  Kirby says as long he he remembers that Kirby is top rooster the the rooster will be fine.!  LOL

I need to get some breakfast sandwiches made and think about something for dessert.  I don't have much ambition so we will see what I get done today.  I also need to get a set of burp rags done so I can give them to the gal that cuts my hair when Pooh and I go in for hair cuts on Friday.

Supper tonight is White Sauce Lasagna, bread, fruit, green salad, veggies, and something for dessert.

  • Good Morning.  I finally got the pics ready to post.  I love taking pics but cropping them and such to post isn't much fun.

    Ok so here we go.

This was my view of the heifers on the way home.  It got a little monotonous after a while.

This is what I saw when I looked out the side rear view mirrors.

This is one that Kyra took as we came over the hill to home.

This is a pic of a cow that I took before we brought the heifers home.

Here is one of Kirby with his buddy.  She follows him around wanting cake and to be scratched.  It is kind of funny.

And here is one of Kirby riding that I took in the rear view mirror.  It isn't a great one but I couldn't resist posting it.

I just talked to Pooh.  She said things are going pretty good but she is tired.  That is pretty much how things go.  She will be really tired tomorrow.  The bus won't get home until around midnight and then we have an hour home.  She is tough though.  She will survive.

It is supposed to be in the high 50 today and almost 60 tomorrow.  It wouldn't be so bad if the snow would melt but it just gets icy and nasty.  And I am such a klutzy and I am dangerous.

Supper tonight is 10 Minute Fettuccine with chicken breast and whatever else makes it to the table.

  • I know these aren't pics of bringing the heifers home but some pics that Kyra took of the critters yesterday.  I came to them first.  LOL

Here is Lucky.  Just happy that someone is paying attention to him.

/this is the look that CP give us ever since Daisy come into our lives.

Here is Daisy just being her normal cute self.

This pic seems to sat to me.  Are you sure that was Tuna.  It sure didn't taste like it.  Kyra said she caught her yawning.  All I know is she looks kind of scary!  LOL

  • Good Morning.  I survived bringing the heifers home  I even got some pics of them coming home and when the guys were feeding.  I just can't seem to get the ambition to get the fixed up to post them.  I promise it will get done.

Pooh is in Glendive for 2 days for a a mass band thing.  She gets to be in the percussion ensemble this year so she was kind tof excited about that but she wasn't excited about staying overnight and being housed with Band families.  I told her she would survive and she told me she hoped that she did.

I broke down the other night and bought a Wii and a Wii fit.  My reasoning is that it is cheaper than a new piece of equipment.  I just hope that I am coordinated enough to use it.  LOL  It could be pretty comivcal for the people who live with me!

    Not much else going on.

Supper tonight is Taco Pasta salad.  I figure since Miss picky isn't here I will try it.

  • Good Morning.  Off for a new experience.  We are a person short to help bring heifers home.  So I get to help.  I'm not riding just driving the truck.  I am not good with a stick shift.  Wish me luck.  I will be back with an update.

  • Good Morning!  I am dragging this morning.  I woke up with a migraine.  It is finally thinking about going away.  I hope it goes away completely.

Not much going on here.  Kirby and I have to go to Billing tomorrow for first of the month shopping.  Then on Sunday I get to nag Pooh to do her packing so she ready to go to Glendive on Monday.  Morning.  I know she isn't really looking forward to it but she will survive.

I finally got a pic of Pooh doing drumline last night.  It isn't great but I will try again the next time that the band is there.  She is so short it is hard to get a pic.  All you really see is her eyes above the bass drum.  I tease herr that with all the guys out there she looks really short.  She always tells me at least she is taller than me.  LOL

Kyra was thrilled last night.  She took Daisy to bed with her and put her in the cat bad on her bed and Daisy slept with her all night.  When I went to get them up in the morning Kyra was laying there talking to her.  I am hoping that she decide that Kyra is her human.  She is pretty sure that she is but I want her to decide that she is.   Here she is in one of her rare moments of sitting still.

Supper tonight is steak, taters, fruit, veggie and chocolate pudding cake for dessert.

  • Good Morning.  I am tired of snow.  The worst part is the wind blew last night so it blew parts of the road in.  I will have to take the Explorer when I go to work the grad party table tonight.  It really isn't that big of deal but the Outback gets better gas mileage.  LOL

Daisy got to come in the house yesterday.  We had been keeping her in the mudroom so she could recover from getting spayed without the other cats bothering her  She laid and slept in Kyra's lap for most of the day.  then about about bed time she decided it was time to play and explore.   So we got to listen to the other cats sit and his and meow at her all night.  She was fine this morning so I guess all is OK.

Not much else to say.  the heifers are coming home Monday.  And Pooh has Eastern A music festival in Glendive and will stay over night so that is the excitement around here!  LOL

Here are a few pics of the cats.  This is Buddy.  We saved him from being put to sleep.  We figured being a barn cat was better than the altenative.

And this is Buddy giving his opinion of the cold weather.  He doen't like it very well and lets us know ie doesn't.

This is Buster.  He was left by a hired man and we took him in.  He is starting to get old and a little crotchety.  I still see him go off hunting every daay.  He just doesn't move quite as fast as he used to.

Here are Rowdy and Sugar.  Rowdy seems to be saying I just want to play.  Please play with me.  I won't hurt you.  Just play with me!!!!!

Supper tonight is Porcupine Meatball casserole for Kirby, Kyra, and Kohl.  I am in to work the grad party table so I am going to have Subway.  I am not sure what Pooh will do.  She normally gets Nachos of Pizza at the game.

  • Good Morning.  It was actually above zero this morning when we went to the bus.  We were quite sure how to act.

I am being reminded why I normally stay away from groups and organizations.  I am so tired of listening to these women and squabble like 2 year olds.  I can't understand why people can't people put petty differences aside and act like adults.  Is it that Hard?  This is for their kids to have a grad party and all some of them can do is squabble.  I am beginning to wonder how much more of this I can take.  The only thing that keeps me from stopping is I refuse to drop it all in the lap of the gal that has been doing all the work.  She isn't acting this way and it wouldn't be fair to her.

Here is a pic that I took of rowdy the other day.  He sleeps on the computer desk in the morning and lately he is telling us that the desk is too small and that we need to take some of the unnecessary stuff off the desk.  You know, like the monitor, the moouse and mosepad.  Stuff that he doesn't need.

    i

Now much else going on.  I am working the grad table again tomorrow night.  Not too many left thank goodness.  I don't mind but it does get a little old sometimes.

Supper tonight is tater tot casserole, raw veggies, fruit, and something for dessert.

    Added:  Daisy and her Human.

January 27, 2009

  • Good Morning!  I took some time off but I hope I am back now.  It really hit that it might be the last Christmas Pooh was home and I just got in a funk.  It has lifted and I think I am back.

I will give a quick update of what has happened.

We had to have Smokie, our 15 year old cat, put to sleep.  He had pancreatic cancer and there was just nothing we do for him.

We found this little guy in the road.

Went to have him fixed and he died in the table.  They did an autopsy and found out his heart was too big.  It should have been the size of a ping pong ball and it was the size of a tennis ball.  The cat had adopted Kyra so after he died the vet found us another cat.  We brought her home yesterday.  Kyra named her Daisy.  We are hoping she will bond to Kyra and she will have a cat.  As much as she loves cats she doesn't have on that she is human to.

Pooh finished herr first semester of he Senior year.  I can't believe that it is half over.

I am working on the nonalcoholic party for graduation and that is becoming a bit of a pain.  the president just quit coming to the meetings and wouldn't talk to anyone about it.  Someone was supposed to visit with her about resigning or starting to run the meeting.  I will find out about that tonight when I go in to work the table for the 50/50 raffle.

Heifers are coming home the weekend.  It will be different with just Kirby and hired man checking.  I told Kirby that I would check them while they feed.  I can't pull them or anything but I can at least tell them when they starting calving so they can decide to pull it or wait to see if she has it.

I know there is more but I will save it for later.

Supper tonight is leftovers.  I am working at the Senior grad table and Pooh is staying in to hang with some friends so I don't know what she will do.  I am not sure what I am doing either.

  • This is the latest baby blanket that I have finished.  I need to decide what burp rag to make to go with it.  They aren't finding out what sex the baby is so I am kind of stumped.  LOL

I am working on a lap afghan too but can't finish it until i get more yarn on Saturday.

It isn't the greatest pic.  It was hard to get a good on with the yarn.  It is white with yellow, blue, pink and green flecks in it.
