Lucky

Good morning.  Not a whole lot going on here.  The heifers are calving along and seem to may have slowed a little.  We had twins but mom was too wild to take care them both so we had to bum one.  Kirby named her Abigail.  She is really funny.  If anyone but Kirby comes in the barn she doesn't pay them any attention.  Kirby walks in and she raises all sorts of heck.  I told him that she knows where the food comes from.  He is the only one that feeds her.  LOL

Supper tonight is  Taco Lasagna, fruit, cornbread, raw veggies and cupcakes for dessert.

Good Afternoon.  Parent teacher conferences this evening.  They don't start until 5.  I am not thrilled.  I like it better when they started at 4.

Kirby is making hamburgers for supper.  Not sure what I will do.

Good Morning.  Quite the weekend.  Pooh had pep band for tournaments this weekend.  I truly doesn't even feel like it was the weekend.  We were on the go so much.

On Saturday after I got home from taking Pooh to the bus Kirby radioed and said the he had stepped out to shoot at a coyote and it scared Lucky and her ran off.  So off I went to look for him.  I searched and searched and couldn't find him.  Finally Kirby and I decided that I would start driving between the bull pasture and home to see if I could see him.  On my way  home he was sitting there looking toward home like he was looking for someone.  I called him and got him in the Explorer and came home.  I told him that I have now saved him twice and I am not doing it anymore.  He gets to stay home now so we don't have to look for him.

This calf has a problem standing up so it he has a hard time nursing.  Don't quite understand but it seems to work that way.  Kirby is trying to help him nurse his bottle.



This baby is less than two hours old.



And Buster.  He is a cranky thing anymore.



Supper tonight is Scampi Scallops for Kirby and me and Spaghetti for the kids.

So I finally got out and got some pics of the new calves.  It was cold out so they weren't up and about much but I got some pics.





I was standing in a little pen taking pics and this little guy was really curious about what I was doing.  He kept coming around to look at me.  Mom wasn't really happy about it but she didn't try to eat me for supper or anything.  LOL



Supper tonight is sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, and fruit.
